The Dead Scar

The woman's eyes were alight as she gazed down the scar on the lands of the elves. Nothing grew nor thrived where the scar had been carved as though death itself had walked the lands from top to toe without remorse at what it tread upon. Bones of hundreds lay where the occupant had fallen under the feet of it's companions or having been shot down by arrows of a ranger nearer to certain points. The scar blemished these glorious lands like an ugly grimace amidst the most beautiful of smiles. The woman had seen the scar but a day old and her eyes then had lit up in curiosity and shock at what could have caused such destruction and left this impurity upon the glorious lands. Of course, it had to be something of pure evil, of death and decay, and the rotting smells reaching her nose confirmed it so.

Yet as she today bore her crimson glare down the famed scar where the inexorable march of the dead had commenced, she saw it in a new light; sheer pride.
